Why Go Handwritten Now?

What brings to your mind when it comes to a handwritten Letter?  “I was writing letters all the time when I was young but I hardly do recently.”, “I recall my correspondence with my sweetheart at school.”, and so on… Some might bring back the bittersweet memories of the youth in an instant through a letter.

I’ve been fond of writing letters since I was a child, and I was writing letters all the time.  Come to think of why it had to be a letter, I think it was a reflection of my tongue-tied personality.  Having a casual conversation with a friend was okay for me, but I was having such a hard time speaking my thoughts and feelings deep down into my heart.

In the meanwhile, by writing, I was able to take my time to choose the appropriate words to express my feelings.  Furthermore, the recipient would be grateful to me for sending a letter.

Ever since I have started my own business as a writer who aspires to promote the development of letter culture, I write approximately one thousand letters a year.  You might be surprised how much I can write, but what I usually write is two to three lines, five to six lines at the longest.

Now that the texts and social media are the main tools for communication, the importance of handwriting is now being reevaluated.  Just because we seldom receive the handwritten letters nowadays, the thought of you taking the time to sit and pen a letter will be returned to you with the recipient’s affection and trust.

You don’t have to write a long letter.  A long letter filled with lots of words can be taken too seriously sometimes.  A short note with refreshing words will not pressure the recipient to write you back.

Just the two words “Thanks always.” are enough.  You will feel the distance between each other’s hearts is shortened.
